MARYSVILLE – In a scene eerily similar to the tragic shooting Oct. 24, Marysville-Pilchuck High School students were taken by school bus to the Reunification site at Shoultes Gospel Hall after a bomb threat Jan. 14.

News releases from the Marysville Police Department and school district emphasize all students and staff are safe. The girls basketball games scheduled for this evening were cancelled and will be scheduled for a later date.

Just before school ended the office received a call at about 1:45 p.m., with a robotic message, threatening a bomb was on campus.

Police responded and found no bomb. Bomb detection dogs performed a secondary and more-thorough search.

Students were allowed to go home a little early. Students who ride buses did so. All other students were diverted to the Shoultes Gospel Hall at 116th and 51st where parents picked up their children.

Students and staff who drive to school were unable to access their cars until police released the campus. Students who parked in the north lot were able to pick up their vehicles starting at 3:45 p.m.

Anyone who has information regarding this crime is asked to call Marysville detectives at 360-363-8350.
