Local artists accepted in Snohomish show

SNOHOMISH Several north Snohomish County artists have been accepted in the Arts of Snohomish Gallerys third annual Juried Art Show which runs Oct. 3-29.

SNOHOMISH Several north Snohomish County artists have been accepted in the Arts of Snohomish Gallerys third annual Juried Art Show which runs Oct. 3-29.
Dean Rocky Barrick and Carol Van Loo, of Arlington, and Mara Price, of Marysville, will be showing their work along with a wild diversity of artistic talent from around the Puget Sound region. Barrick creates amazing illustrations of wild animals and has launched into a new historical line of images. Van Loo paints rich-colored florals.
The show was juried by Snohomish artist Karen Guzak, and Ted Pankowski, artist and immediate past president of East Association of Fine Art.
The art on display ranges from three-dimensional mixed media to traditional paintings, drawings and sculpture. Out of 197 entries from 57 artists, 43 artists were accepted into the show.
Of those, 11 are members of the gallery and 32 are non-members. Applications received came from as far away as Auburn to Seattle to Camano Island and all points in between. Other categories include fiber, photography, glass, watercolors, drawing/pastels, and cyber art. The show includes 60 pieces of art.
The juror, Karen Guzak received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado, and Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Cornish Institute of Seattle. She produces paintings and prints and has sold public art pieces in Washington and Oregon. Her art is in numerous museums on the east and west coasts and her work can be found in private and corporate art collections throughout the US and Canada.
Ted Pankowski has been painting for 15 years and has been juried into local and regional shows. He teaches oil and acrylic painting at Arts Umbrella in Bothell and is affiliated with Northwest Watercolor Society, Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters, Woodinville Artists Association and Washington Plein Air Painters. He shows his work at Kaewyn Gallery in Bothell.
An artist reception and awards presentation is on Saturday, Oct. 7,

Arts of Snohomish Gallery is a cooperative fine arts organization owned and operated by community-minded artists.
