Larsen’s talk on Obamacare moved to Totem due to popular demand

MARYSVILLE – U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen will be having a “Town Talk” at Totem Middle Schoo today from 10-11:30 a.m.

The site was changed to a larger location than City Hall because of public interest. Larsen wants to hear from the public about the Affordable Care Act and other issues important to them. Larsen plans to explain Congressional Republicans’ efforts to repeal the Obamacare with no plan to replace it.

Last month, Larsen launched a new online platform for Washingtonians to share their stories about how they or someone they know has benefited from the act. More than 500 constituents have shared their stories. In this state, 537,000 people gained coverage thanks to Obamacare, over 2,969,000 people with a pre-existing condition, and millions more whose critical benefits and health costs are at risk. After hearing from more than 15,000 constituents, Larsen voted in support of the act in 2009 – citing its improvements to Medicare benefits for seniors, bans on discrimination based on pre-existing conditions and more.
