MARYSVILLE – Despite dark skies and rain, more than a dozen people turned out Oct. 1 for a huggingtheworld.com event at “The top of the world” in Marysville.

Organizer Dean Pendergraft and the others met on the trail at 77th St. NE, just south of Marysville Getchell High School.

Participants held out their arms as if they were hugging the world. A photograph was shot with the city in the background. Pendergraft has posted the photo all over social media.

The waiter at Applebees wants to make it an annual event in the city. His goal is promote peace and love.
