Every other year the Grace Academy fifth- through ninth-graders have the opportunity to take an educational tour to the East Coast, with highlights in New York, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
They recently returned from being away for one full week, during which time they saw many of our national historic sites. Among them were the Capitol, the White House, the Supreme Court, the National Archives, the Library of Congress, Smithsonian Museums, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Washington Monument and the other presidential memorials, the Holocaust Museum, our war memorials such as WW II, Korean, Vietnam, Iwo Jima, as well as the Arlington National Cemetery where they had the tremendous honor of laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. They were also able to visit mount Vernon, Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, the Empire State Building, and even had the delight of seeing Mary Poppins on Broadway. It was an unforgettable trip, reinforcing in each students heart the foundation and history of this great nation.
