MARYSVILLE — As Community Transit prepares to break ground on the new Marysville Park and Ride station, at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Grove Street, the agency will host a public open house to discuss the project.

The event will take place from 4:30-7 p.m. on June 16 in the Marysville Library, located at 6120 Grove St. Community Transit staff will be on hand for this drop-in event to discuss the project, which is scheduled to begin in July, as well as to answer questions.

The new Marysville Cedar and Grove Park and Ride will include 213 parking spaces, as well as parking for motorcycles and bicycles. It is designed to supplement existing parking facilities in the city. The new Park and Ride will have a large shelter and boarding area, as well as lighting and security features. Routes 207, 421 and 821 are expected to serve the lot, which will be a block west of State Avenue, where several local routes operate.

The exact start date of the project has yet to be determined. Community Transit is negotiating with a contractor for the work, and hopes to open the new Park and Ride this December.
