Comments sought on Marysville’s $334K in block grants

Marysville residents are invited to review and comment on the annual action plan outlining proposed federal funding of local services through the Community Development Block Grant program.

The program provides grants to develop housing and economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income people. Local programs identified for $334,000 in funding include:

•$128,000 to the city for Alder Avenue sidewalk improvements,

•$90,000 to Senior Services of Snohomish County for its Minor Home Repairs program,

•$66,000 to the city for planning and administration,

•$17,500 to Marysville Food Bank for its Food for Thought Backpack program,

•$13,699 to Housing Hope for its Beachwood Apartments,

•$12,000 to Homage Senior Services for its Meals on Wheels program,

•$6,801 to Catholic Community Services for its Volunteer Chore Services program.
