Arlington police investigating second drive-by shooting

ARLINGTON – Police are investigating to recent drive-by shooting that occurred within days of each other.

“This is extremely unusual for us,” city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.

The most recent incident was reported at about 3 a.m. on Saturday when a window was shot out at a home in the 3400 block of 182nd Street NE west of Smokey Point Boulevard, Banfield said. A spent casing was found inside.

The first drive-by shooting happened at 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 7 when multiple gunshots damaged a house in the 19900 block of 67th Avenue NE. A dark, medium-sized four-door sedan was seen speeding away.

No one was injured in either incident.

“Hopefully we’ll get some information that will help us break the cases open,” Banfield said.
