Arlington Kiwanis Club honors Peterson as Person of the Year

ARLINGTON – The Arlington Kiwanis honored longtime community leader Steve Peterson as Person of the Year at the club’s installation banquet Oct. 3.

Presenters said the former president and board member of the Arlington club has been an integral part of the community.

Peterson grew up in Oso and graduated from Arlington High School in 1966.

He served as an Arlington police officer and commissioner on the Civil Service Board. While a member of the Cascade Valley Hospital Board for several years, he spent two of them as secretary.

Honoring his late wife, Kathy, Peterson has helped Kiwanis and the Library Board over the last five years buy and distribute dictionaries for every third-grade student in the area. This year’s dictionaries will be presented to students in honor of both Kathy and Steve Peterson.
