Anti-bullying event planned at Tulalip

MARYSVILLE – Police school resource officers will be bringing their anti-bullying message to schools and the public Feb. 23.

The free community program will be at 7 p.m. at the Tulalip Resort Casino.

Guest speakers are Marc Mero, former WWE and WCE pro wrestler and founder of Champion of Choices, and Amy Briggs, a mother and school teacher who lost her son due to bullying. Their message includes information on suicide prevention. Also, anti-bullying assemblies will take place at all Marysville secondary schools Feb. 21-23. School resource officers in the Marysville Police Department work in middle, junior high and high schools. They say bullying and harassment continue to be the biggest issue that youth face at school, home and in the workplace.
