The following Washington State University students from Western Washington have earned recognition on the Fall 2007 President’s Honor Roll, according to the registrar’s office. To be eligible for the WSU honor roll, a full-time student must earn a 3.75 grade point average for the semester or have maintained a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Marysville: Judith Rose Coxon, Allison Lei Fawcett, Jenna Rosanne Hansen, Dustin Robert Hoegemeyer, Christopher Lynn King, Casey Ryan McCormick, Rachel Kathryn Ollmann, Erika Michelle Ottenbreit, Francis Yvonne Staser, Kaitlin Marie Thomas, Casey Lee Thometz, Renee Walker and Susan Anne Whipple.

Fall Dean’s List

Victoria Crowley of Marysville was recently named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2008 semester at Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minn.

She is a 2005 graduate of Masters Touch Christian School and is a sophomore at Crown. Crowley has an intended major in Communications.

She is the daughter of Dan and Lita Crowley.

Honors Graduate

Josh Matlock, a Marysville resident his entire life, graduated from A and T Technology as a National Honors Society Student. Before he left for the University of Washington, he achieved a black belt in Tae-Kwan-do. He is the son of Keith and Toni Matlock of Marysville.

To be eligible for the WSU President’s Honor Roll, an undergraduate student must earn a grade point average of 3.75 in at least nine graded hours in a single term at WSU or a GPA of 3.50 based on at least 15 cumulative hours of graded work.

Brandon Scheller was elected Associated Students of

Washington State University president. Scheller was elected by WSU students

who had the opportunity to vote for their candidates of choice on March 4 and 5.

Marysville Student ASWSU president

Brandon Scheller has been an active member of ASWSU since his freshman year. He has served as a District One senator and as co-chair of the programming committee and the external affairs committee and as liaison for the Student Entertainment Board and the Black Student Union for the 35th and 36th senate.

Scheller was voted “Senator of the Year” by his peers for his work on the 35th senate and was appointed chairman for Homecoming and Springfest for the Student Entertainment Board. Scheller also sits on President Elson S. Floyd’s Student Advisory Board.

He is a sports writer for The Daily Evergreen, has been writing Cougar football for The Seattle Times since 2006 and continues to be a regular on ZFun 106’s “Rude Awakening with Steve Shannon.”

He is the son of Lori and Byron Scheller from Marysville.

Dean’s List

The following students made the Seattle Pacific University 2007 Autumn Quarter Dean’s List. Students on the Dean’s List have completed at least 12 credits and attained a 3.50 or higher grade point average. Known for both their competence and character, SPU graduates are bringing about positive change in communities around the globe.

Dean’s List

At Pacific Lutheran University, more than 850 students were named to the Dean’s List for Fall 2007. The list recognizes outstanding academic achievement, as it requires a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term.

Honorees included Laurel Gamman. She is the daughter of Larry and Helen Gamman of Marysville, Wash. A 2006 graduate of Lakewood High School, Laurel is pursuing degrees in history and psychology.
