MARYSVILLE — A choir of African children aim to entertain and enlighten Marysville audiences.

The Ugandan Orphans Choir, a group of 10 talented children ranging in age from 8-12, will be performing at the Marysville Seventh-Day Adventist Church, located at 12012 51st St., on March 19 starting at 6 p.m.

All 10 children have benefitted from Childcare Worldwide’s sponsorship program and now devote their energy to helping other children, like themselves, gain access to sponsorship and education.

Not only do the exuberant children perform traditional Ugandan songs and dances with high-energy drumming, dancing and harmonies, but they also share stories about how their lives have been changed through the education provided through Childcare Worldwide’s sponsorship program.

The choir has performed its unique mix of authentically African cultural song, dance and storytelling in churches and schools nationwide, as well as at venues such as Disneyland and Qwest Field.
