Song of the Siren features Marysville’s Judy Zugish and Kathy McNeil

Marysville basket maker Judy Zugish and quilt maker Kathy McNeil have artwork included in the show, Song of the Siren, at the Everett Center for the Arts in the Monte Cristo. Presented by the Arts Council of Snohomish County, the show runs through Oct. 23 with an opening reception from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11.

Song of the Siren features water-themed two-dimension paintings in oil, pastel, acrylic and watercolor in art with such images as mermaids, fish, boats, shells, waterscapes and more; sculptures made of bronze, stone, concrete, ceramic and glass; color, black and white and digital photographs, and including a seductive variety of paintings in .

Along with Zugish and McNeil, the show includes Reg Akright, Guy Anderson, Dennis Cant, Jane Cuchiarra, Carol Dean, Rebecca Fletcher, Blake Flynn, Janet Foley, Robert Gigliotti, Jack Gunter, d’Elaine Johnson, Kelly Kellogg, Marianne E. Legg, Lynda Lord, Tim Lord, Merrilee Moore, Cheri O’Brien, Janie Olsen, Donna Perugini, Paula Rey, Zefrim Rose, Karen Schroeder, Duane Simshauser, Ron Smith, Lisa Spreacker, Ryan A. Synovec, Pat Tolle, Gerritt Van Ness, Diane Walker and more.

At the reception, glass bead artist Jeri Herrera from Camano Island will be demonstrating torch work and offer a variety of her work available for sale. Kathy Edwards with “Creative Chocolate” will be on hand with her nautical-themed handmade chocolates.

The gallery is at 1507 Wall St. in downtown Everett is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
