MARYSVILLE — The city of Marysville’s Parks and Recreation Department is issuing an open invitation for this Thursday, Aug. 2, to join a free concert by the Kellee Bradley Band starting at 7 p.m.

Bradley has opened for many prominent bands over the years — including Chicago, the Steve Miller Band and John Mellencamp — and will perform some of her self-composed music.

Sponsored by the Cottages at Marysville, all summer concerts take place at Jennings Memorial Park’s natural amphitheater, near the Lions Centennial Pavilion at 6915 Armar Rd.

Those interested in more free family fun may also join Marysville Parks and Recreation and Waste Management Northwest’s Saturday, Aug. 4, Popcorn in the Park showing of “The Muppets,” rated PG.

These movies are sponsored exclusively by Waste Management Northwest and shown at the Jennings Memorial Park Baseball Field, also at 6915 Armar Rd. The Marysville Kiwanis Club provides free popcorn at each showing. Films begin at dusk, typically around 9 p.m.
