Ken Baxter Senior Community Center seeks Instructors
The Ken Baxter Senior/Community Center is seeking people who are interested in volunteering or being paid to teach classes. Anyone with knowledge of a particular subject or with an artistic skill who would like to teach a class should call the center and request an instructor proposal packet. Sarvey critters head to the city
Sarvey Wildlife leads bird watching at Northwest Stream Center. Barbara Ogaard, of Arlington’s Sarvey Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, will take an assortment of birds to the Northwest Stream Center for an evening of interesting fun, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26. Visitors will have an opportunity to get up-close and personal with critters such as hawks, owls and bats to lowly possums. ARC runs for Housing Hope
Arlington Runners Club is planning its next run to benefit Housing Hope starting 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 27. Due to changes with the Airport Trail system the course will be slightly different from last year’s course, but nothing significant, according to coordinator Jon Hatfield. “Because of the generosity of our sponsors — Stillaguamish Athletic Club, Thornberry Auto, Jon & Bev Hatfield with RE/MAX Signature Real Estate, Gaylord Security and Granroth Insurance Agency — all proceeds from this race go to Housing Hope,” Hatfield said. Trophies will be awarded to the overall winners in men’s 5K, women’s 5K, women’s 10K and men’s 10K with first, second and third place ribbons awarded to the top three finishers in each category. Entry fee is $5. Registration starts at 7:45 a.m. ARC’s final run of the year is the Marines Toys for Tots Run on Dec. 13.
