MARYSVILLE – Mikayla Kerker of Marysville-Pilchuck High School is the winner of the May Marysville Rotary Community Service Recognition Award.

She has been volunteering with the Marysville Special Olympics soccer teams for six years.

She is a junior class officer, which allows her to help run events and fundraisers.

And Mikayla is on the National Honor Society, which gives her the opportunity to tutor children and volunteer at school.

She’s also community service director for DECA, a school business club. Next year she will be president of the club.

As the award winner, she received a $100 check from sponsor Les Schwab.

Rotary president Daryn Bundy presented her with the award recently.
