The city of Marysville Parks and Recreation Department has hypnotherapy programs and picnic meals on tap for the summer and fall.

Hypnotherapist Kathie Brodie is offering two sets of classes at the Ken Baxter Senior Community Center on Mondays at 1 p.m. — “Hypnosis for Weight Loss” July 23 through Aug. 9 for $95, and “Stop Smoking” Sept. 13 and 20 for $65. Space is limited, and for more information or to register, you can call Marysville Parks and Recreation at 360-363-8400.

The Ken Baxter Senior Community Center is also selling tickets for its annual senior picnic barbecue set for Aug. 10 at 11:30 a.m. Tickets go for a suggested donation of $3 each, and no tickets will be sold the day of the event. Tickets will be on sale until sold out, or until Aug. 5, and can be purchased at the Senior Community Center during business hours. All food is provided, and is for seniors ages 50 and up. The Senior Community Center is located in Comeford Park, at 514 Delta Ave. For more information, call 360-363-8450.
