Candidates Forum Sept. 11

ARLINGTON – A special Marysville-Tulalip Chamber of Commerce Luncheon will take place Sept. 11 at the Byrnes Performing Arts Center at Arlington High School.

A Candidates Forum will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd.

Speakers will include:

District 39 Senator – Claus Joens vs. Keith Wagoner

District 39 Rep. 1 – Robert Sutherland vs. Ivan Lewis

District 39 Rep. 2 – Carolyn Eslick vs. Eric Halvorson

Register online before 5 p.m. Sept. 7 for a $15 fee, which includes lunch. At the door it will cost $20.

Hotel-Motel tax money

MARYSVILLE – Can you attract tourists to Marysville?

Groups proposing projects that will enhance and promote tourism in Marysville in 2019 can apply for the city’s Hotel/Motel Tax Grant Program.

Deadline is 5 p.m. Sept. 28. The program is open to qualified, private non-profit groups with demonstrated ability to accomplish the projects they propose. Examples include organizations such as historical societies, art groups, chambers or commerce, museums and galleries, youth activity organizations and service clubs.
