Arlington, Marysville chambers offer summer carnivals

Both the Arlington and Marysville communities will soon be able to enjoy family carnivals.

The Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce’s third annual Smokey Point Carnival returns to the Arlington Airport grounds, at the corner of 172nd Street NE and 51st Avenue, from June 25-28.

Tickets are on sale for $15 at the chamber offices, at 104 N. Olympic Ave. in Arlington, and $19 at the gate.

The carnival will be open from 4-10 p.m. on Thursday, June 25; from noon to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, June 26-27; and from noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 28.

Butler Amusements will be bringing 12 rides, including one more kiddie ride and one more ride for older patrons than last year. There will also be games and concessions.

The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce will be debuting its first carnival at Allen Creek Elementary, at 6505 60th Dr. NE in Marysville, from July 9-12.

Tickets are on sale for $15 at the chamber offices, in Suite C at 8825 34th Ave. NE in Tulalip; at HomeStreet Bank and Safeway, at 1238 State Ave. in Marysville; and at Langabeer, McKernan & Burnett, at 4027 80th St. NE in Marysville.

The carnival will be open from 4-10 p.m. on Thursday, July 9; from 3-11 p.m. on Friday, July 10; from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 10; and from noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 12.

Butler Amusements will also be providing the rides for this carnival, with games and confessions available as well.

Among Butler’s familiar favorites for teens and adults are the Zipper, the Viper, the Cyclone, the Tilt-A-Whirl and the Scrambler. Slides are available for patrons of all ages, while popular kiddies’ rides include the Dragon Wagon, Hot Rods, Goofyville, the Galaxy Swing and Dune Buggies. New this year is the Thrasher Funhouse.
