A country fair for dogs, the Marysville Dog Owners Group and the Marysville Parks Department will be meeting at 6 p.m., June 11, to plan the Poochapalooza set for July 12. The meeting will be at Haggens Grocery Market Deli on 88th Street in Marysville. The third annual Poochapalooza outdoor dog event will be from 10 a.m. to

3 p.m., July 12. While admission is free, donations will be gladly excepted. Sponsors, vendors and volunteers are needed for this benefit for a off-leash dog park in the city of Marysville. To date, participants include Clouds Canine, Rally O, Agility and Canine Good Citizen Testing, Hyperflite Skyhoundz Disc, Dog Championships with Ray Calhoun, NAFA Flyball provided by the Cascade Comets, Reading With Rover and Emerald City Freestyle Dancing Dogs. Car Show

Registration starts 8 a.m. for the first car show on the new North Olympic Avenue in dowtown Arlington, presented by the Downtown Arlington Business Association. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. at the Show-n-Shine Car Show, which offers lots of raffle prizes, music and a street full of fancy cars Saturday, June 14. Arlington Idol

for the street fair

Auditions for the Arlington Idol contest, to be held in conjunction with the Arlington Street Fair, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 14. Singers aged 16 and up are eligible to compete. The selected contestants will compete at 6 p.m., Friday, July 11 as a part of the street fair entertainment. A cash prize will be awarded to the winner, courtesy of the sponsor, Movement Arts of Arlington. Local celebrity judges will decide the winner. The contest will be held in the new Gazebo in Legion Park on Olympic Avenue. All contestants must audition to be considered for the contest. The audition starts at

Disc golf tournaments

Teens and adults of all abilities are invited to Saturday Singles and Sunday Doubles Disc Golf Tournaments presented by Action Sports starting at 1:30 p.m. on the first and third Saturdays of the month and the second and fourth Sundays of the month starting. There is a $12 tournament entry fee. The Rotary Disc Golf Course is located at Twin Rivers Park, 22914 State Route 530 (Just past Lincoln Bridge). Course is open to the public.

Only in Washington

The deadline is July 1 for photographers to respond to the Washington State Convention & Trade Center’s call for artists for an upcoming photographic exhibition showcasing Washington state. The exhibition, Only in Washington, will celebrate both the creativity of our resident photographers and their original, unique perspectives of the Evergreen State. Images of al aspects of Washington state will be considered — the photographer’s favorite hiking trail, a quiet wheat field or your neighborhood coffee shop, for example.
