Vote yes for MSD kids

I’m writing this letter to encourage everyone to vote for the replacement levy and new bond.

As a parent with two children in the Marysville School District, (high school and middle school) I am concerned about their education. It is so important in this day and age to have a good education. I’m sure, like most parents, you only want the best for your children. Having a school system that can provide for all our children’s needs is essential in helping them succeed in life.

I have lived in California, Oregon and Hawaii and have seen what works in these states and what doesn’t. One of the biggest things I have noticed is when the community takes an active interest in a child’s education the whole community profits. There is less crime, more involvement on the student’s part to be productive (because people care about them) and an overall feeling of accomplishment from everyone involved.

Levies are for Learning. Bonds are for Building. We need both these things to ensure our children get the most out of their education. I highly recommend reading up on both these things so you know the facts. Most people don’t know the facts and assume it means more taxes … that is not so. Whether you have pre-school age children or if your children are grown, what happens with the Marysville School District does affect you.

I hope when February rolls around you’ll be out there voting for the kids, I know I will.

They deserve it.
