On Nov. 23 I went to Bartell’s in Marysville to finish my Christmas shopping.

I went to the cash register, and needed $3 more so I started digging in my purse when a Santa Helper told the clerk, “I will cover it.”

I thought he meant the $3 so I thanked him and told him I would pay him before he left the store.

The clerk put the receipt in the bag and said, “He paid for it.”

I was confused. But the man said, “Merry Christmas.”

I shook his hand and with a humble, “Thank you,” left the store.

I do not know anything about the man, but I truly thank him for his kindness.
