Marysville students are lucky that Pete Lundberg is running for the Marysville School Board, District 3.
When Dennis Kendall retired mid-term as mayor in 2010 and was replaced by Jon Nehring, our city was quite fortunate. He served nine years on the City Council of Marysville and is very knowledgeable of the work to be done.
I’ve been reading the letters to the editor for the last several weeks regarding the Marysville Mayoral election.
Dear Editor, with careful consideration of the candidates for Marysville Mayor I will be supporting Jon Nehring.
When the public agency “The City of Marysville” made efforts to acquire a portion of our yard for trail purposes my husband communicated to me that Director of Parks and Recreation Jim Bellew came to our property and asked us to donate it. He did the same to at least one of our other neighbors. Not knowing what they wanted we had nothing to base a decision or value on or what property “The City of Marysville” actually wanted, so we continued to use our property for various things with “no retaliation”.
We have received a couple inquiries regarding the purchase of private property by government and specifically a concern that the city of Marysville overpaid for a property acquisition.
I have known Jon outside of his Mayoral capacity for years, and have always respected him as a person. I know that Jon Nehring and his family have been heavily involved in making Marysville a better community long before he held elected office. I have personally provided service in the community for years as well, through church, Boy Scouts and other activities, but have never seen a Mayor as supportive as he is, in recognizing citizens for their volunteer work.
I’m supporting Kelly Wright for mayor of Marysville. Kelly has experience with local government all over the world and has correctly identified issues with the city’s current leadership which must be addressed.
I must respond to a series of comments and letters regarding the current appointed mayor of Marysville and his challenger, Kelly Wright.
The cross country teams at Marysville Getchell and Marysville-Pilchuck high schools want to say a huge “thank you” to the Marysville community for their support of our fifth Tomahawk Twilight Meet this past Oct. 1.
During the last several years I have had the pleasure of working with Steve Muller on a variety of volunteer committees and activities within the Marysville School District.
I read the Everett Herald’s recent article endorsing various candidates for the upcoming Marysville City Council race with interest. Unfortunately, the information on Scott Allen who is running for Position 5 was all too brief. In my association with Scott, I have found him to be incredibly well read and versed about the challenges Marysville faces; he has lived in Marysville for a long time and is a tireless volunteer with church, Kiwanis and the Masons.
After researching the information on both our current Mayor Jon Nehring and his opponent Kelly Wright this election season the voting members of our family have decided to vote for Jon Nehring to continue as Mayor of Marysville.
