I am writing to give your some information regarding our club, Old Bags Of Arlington.
The Old Bags of Arlington began in December 1986. A handful of concerned Arlington and Stanwood women decided to make a difference in their community. We are a philanthropy group whose proceeds are given to children of Arlington and Stanwood. The members contribute money monthly at their meetings. Money raised from various fundraisers throughout the year is also given back to the community. OBOA pays special attention to those who need help but do not meet the criteria of state or national programs.
In 2007 we contributed to 10 families for Thanksgiving and 10 for Christmas, each family was given $75. Deaconess School Project in Arlington was given $200, Equifriends, $150, Arlington and Stanwood football league $200 each. Kids Kloset, $200, Special Olympics, $200 Spinoza Bear Project $153, Toys for Kids (American Legion), $100, Village (for wheelchair scale), $250 and Warm Beach Camp for two campers, $300.
We are always looking for new members, (39 and up). We also graciously accept donations.
Our monthly meetings are held the first Friday of each month a noon at The American Legion. The American Legion has donated us the space for our meetings.
