Congress has yet to ask healthcare professionals to go through our current health care system like Medicare or Medicaid to root out waste and corruption. Why they haven’t asked the experts is beyond me.

Rick Larsen, our House Representative, just sent out his newsletter with the lead sentence of “The skyrocketing cost of health care … It is critical we bring we bring down health care costs for families…” Like everything else, the more complicated the disease/injury, the more it will cost to treat it. Mr. Larsen’s statements also address the large number of “uninsured.”

Who are these “uninsured?” Washington State spent over $191 million dollars on federal health care benefits for illegal aliens in this state in 2008. This amount does not include any monies paid by the state, counties, cities or private agencies. Wouldn’t the “uninsured” have been best served if the $191 million had been spent to provide them with private health insurance of their choice? And, why isn’t this question/situation addressed by Mr. Larsen in his news(?)letter to his constituents?

I believe the solution to the nation’s healthcare problem can be solved by the private sector. We cannot afford the same old solutions we’ve always heard and received from bureaucrats. Nationalizing healthcare will benefit only one thing, the size, bank balance and influence of that bureaucracy.

For better or worse we are a free enterprise system. It is my sincere hope that thoughtful people of all political persuasions who think that control of their bodies should be ceded to the Larsen/Obama’s of the world reconsider their objectives. Are you really sure you can risk having a federal government decide what your future health will be limited to?

Get politicians whose primary objective is to get re-elected out of the business of bad government and worse heathcare.
