MARYSVILLE City resident Frank Thiessen, 87, died following a pre-dawn traffic mishap on Feb. 29.
MARYSVILLE A 31-year-old man was jailed in the beating and overdose of his two-month old infant daughter. The girl had been taken to Childrens Hospital by ambulance on Dec. 6 after suffering respiratory failure while at her doctors office in Redmond. Doctors there determined that she had been given an overdose of prescription medication. She is currently in the intensive care unit.

MARYSVILLE The Marysville Kiwanis Club celebrated its 50th birthday on Nov. 18 with a reception at the Ken Baxter Senior Community Center. Long-time member Ray Harding was saluted with the Legion of Honor award for 50 years of service to the club. A former school principal, Harding missed being a founding member by just a couple weeks, joining the 31 founders shortly after the club was formed in 1956.
