MARYSVILLE The Marysville Parks and Recreation Department invites individuals and groups in the community to get out the gardening gloves and help plant 3,000 tulip, daffodil and other bulbs around Marysville.
Volunteers will gather at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Ebey Waterfront Park, located at State Avenue and First Street downtown. The bulb-planting effort is Marysvilles contribution to Make A Difference Day on Oct. 28, an annual, national day of community giving and helping others.
Green thumbs and gardening experts will be greatly welcomed, but anyone with a willingness to help make their community a more beautiful place, or an interest in gardening, has all the qualifications necessary, said
Mike Robinson, Parks Maintenance Manager. Bulbs will be distributed to locations around Marysville including city parks, public rights-of-way and gateways into the city. Planting instructions and patterns will be provided to each volunteer.
Robinson said this project should be fulfilling because volunteers will be able to see the colorful fruits of their labor next spring.
