Sunnyside Elementary music teacher Brenda Erhardt, center, is all smiles as she lends a hand to McDonalds employee Paula West. To Erhardts left is McDonalds Erin Nakmura and Sunnyside second-grade teacher Laurie Faaberg. Erhardt and Faaberg were just two of some 20-plus Sunnyside staffers who took part in a McTeachers night Jan. 17 at the Marysville McDonalds on State Avenue. For three hours, in return for the help of teachers, the restaurant donated 20 percent of its proceeds to the schools parent group. Sunnyside Principal Jane Colson said the event was well publicized at the school and she expected a standing room only crowd.
