The Local Scoop has announced its ice cream eating contest is set for
4 p.m. on the Fourth of July before the Grand Parade starts at 5 p.m., although the actual location will depend on the condition of the street at that time. The first section of the street, from Division to Fourth Street could actually be done by then, since it is supposed to take two months for each two-block section and that section was started at the end of April. So far the project is on schedule and the first section could be finished by the end of June.
