Marysville man wanted in shooting arrested

MARYSVILLE – A Marysville man whose case appeared on Washington’s Most Wanted TV show the past two weeks has been arrested.

Robert L. Dawson, a 36-year old transient, is the last of three suspects wanted in the June 1 shooting of a Marysville man, who is still hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

After his arrest, Dawson cooperated with investigators, admitting to being at the scene and armed with a handgun at 88th Street NE, Marysville police said. He indicated that he had the firearm because he was afraid he would be robbed. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail in Everett for one count each of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

He was located and apprehended Wednesday afternoon at a south Everett motel after members of the Marysville Police NITE Team received a tip on his whereabouts. A combination of local and regional partnerships, information provided by witnesses and citizens, and the investigative team resulted in all five suspects being tracked down and arrested.

Police arrested two others July 6. Jackie Hatch and Brooke Taylor were booked on two counts each of first-degree assault and robbery.

Hatch, Taylor and Dawson were featured on Washington’s Most Wanted. Marysville detectives received a tip that Hatch and Taylor were in Marysville. Officers from the NITE team set up surveillance and observed Hatch and Taylor get into a vehicle with two others. Hatch and Taylor were taken into custody during a traffic stop. The June 1 shooting was related to a drug deal – robbery gone bad. Two others, a 27-year-old Covington man and a 29-year-old Federal Way woman, were taken into custody June 8 for their role.
