MARYSVILLE – It took a Marysville man 179 days, but he finally came forward April 13 to claim his $200,000 Hit 5 jackpot – one day before its expiration date.

The state Lottery office did not name the winner.

The man was on a business trip to Arizona when he saw on the Lottery Facebook page that a winner had not come forward. The ticket was purchased Oct. 17, 2015.

He checked his tickets on his phone and found he was the winner. He called his boss and told him he’d just won the lottery and had to get home right away. He jumped on a plane and rushed back to Washington.

The winner and his fiancé told Lottery officials they’re planning a wedding in Hawaii. The winner also said his fiancé needs a new car, and they plan to invest the rest.
