Tulalip Heritage advances to play at state in Spokane (slide show)

MILL CREEK — Paul Shay Jr. hit six 3-pointers to lead Tulalip Heritage to a 66-57 win over Pope John Paul II of Lacey 66-57 Feb. 24 at Jackson High School.

Shay tallied 27 points as the Hawks qualified for the 1B Hardwood Classic.

Tulalip Heritage, ranked 11th, will play third-seeded Cedar Park Christian at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Spokane Arena in a loser-out game.

Freshman Alonzo Jones-Smith added 13 points and Josh Iukes 12 for the winners.

Patrick O’Shell scored 18 points for the losers.
