Snohomish shows why it’s No. 1 against M-P

MARYSVILLE – Snohomish showed why it’s the top team in the Wesco North Tuesday, whipping second-place Marysville-Pilchuck’s softball team 15-3.

Tomahawk ace pitcher Mckenzie Justice is not used to be roughed up for 15 runs on 13 hits, but the eight errors made in the field behind her didn’t help matters much.

The Snohomish lineup is filled with line-drive hitters who hit the ball hard, which led to most of the errors. Taylor Khorrami led the visitors, going 2-3 with a double, triple and run batted in.

M-P managed just four hits off Snohomish pitcher Bailey Greenlee. The Tomahawks didn’t even score until the bottom of the seventh, after Snohomish had scored seven in the fifth and six more in the seventh. Alexys Phelps was the only bright spot at the plate for the home team, with a double and two RBI.
