Getchell girls win in Alaska; M-P’s Battle combines 64 points in two games

JUNEAU — The Marysville Getchell girls basketball team defeated Thunder Mountain 56-16 Dec. 28 in the Captial City Classic torunament in Juneau Alaska. Senior Gabrielle Grandbois led MG with 13 points, and her sister freshman, Maddy Grandbois, added 12. MG’s record is 3-4.

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Sophomore Raequan Battle scored a game-high 30 points in the Marysville-Pilchuck boys basketball team’s 71-68 loss to North Kitsap Dec. 28, and led again with 34 points in M-P’s 64-63 win over Ferndale Dec. 27. M-P’s record is 5-5.

PUYALLUP — The Tulalip Heritage boys basketball team lost to Chief Leschi 75-28 Dec. 27. Freshman forward Samuel Fryberg led Tulalip with 14 points. Tulalip Heritage’s record dropped to 1-5.

PUYALLUP — The Tulalip Heritage girls basketball team lost to Chief Leschi 66-44 Dec. 27. Senior guard Alyia Jones led Tulalip with 17 points. Tulalip Heritage’s record dropped to 4-2.
