EVERETT — When the Everett Aquasox take the field for their first home game June 21 against Salem-Keizer, a former Tomahawk from Marysville-Pilchuck will take the field.

Trent Tingelstad estimates roughly 50 friends and family members will attend.

Tingelstad recently signed with the Seattle Mariners after being selected in the 22nd round of the draft. He will start his pro career in Everett.

After being an all-state pick at M-P in 2016, he first played two years at Everett Community College before going on to a four-year school at Louisiana-Monroe. He decided to go pro rather than return for a senior season.

An infielder, Tingelstad hit .321 with 15 doubles and seven homers for the Trojans in 2018. At L-M, he hit .353 with 19 doubles, four triples, seven home runs and knocked in 46 runs.

Funko Field is not new to Tingelstad. He played there while at M-P and EvCC.
