Local little league baseball teams advance in district playoffs (slide show)

EVERETT — It's "all coming together" for Marysville's 10-and-11-year-olds little league All-Star baseball team.

EVERETT — It’s “all coming together” for Marysville’s 10-and-11-year-olds little league All-Star baseball team.

“Everyone’s contributing throughout,” said coach Brian Hurley who has members on the team that won the district title last season. “They have a lot of good experience coming back and it’s really showing.”

Marysville went three-for-three at the District 1 All-Star baseball tournament defeating North Snohomish 8-3 June 29, in a display that included good hitting, pitching and defense, Hurley said.

Marysville advances in the winner-bracket to play Mill Creek July 5.

Other local All-Star teams faced losses the same day.

Formally advancing in the tournament, the Stilly Valley nine-and-10-year-olds were knocked to the loser-out bracket falling to Everett 4-1.

The team played its consolation game against June 30, but the results were unavailable by press time.

Marysville’s nine-and-10-year-olds were eliminated losing to Mill Creek 12-0.

Still in the Majors consolation tournament is Marysville, after defeating Stilly Valley June 27 and Lake Stevens June 28.
