Lakewood tracksters stand out at huge meet

Lakewood finished down in the results as a team, but had some strong individual performances at the Birger Solberg Invitational meet Saturday at Civic Stadium.

Michai Harris was second out of 52 runners in the 100 meters with a time of 11.3 seconds. He was fourth in the 200 at 23.46.

Placing fifth was its 4 by 400 relay team of Daniel Crawford, Jordan Gonzalez, Alex Jensen and Spencer Fleming with a time of 3 minutes, 37.81 seconds.

Keegan Bach finished fifth in the shot put, throwing the 12-pound ball 45 feet, 5.5 inches.

Flemming placed seventh in the 400 meters in 53.22 seconds.

Placing ninth and just missing out in the scoring was Jensen in the 800 meters, Tavion Henderson in the long jump and the Cougars 4 by 200 relay team.

The only point for the girls team came from Jasmine Graham, who placed eighth in the high jump with a mark of 4 feet 8 inches.

Baseball

Marysville Pilchuck only managed two hits in falling to Snohomish in five innings Saturday 14-1.

The home team busted out for four runs in the first and nine in the second in the route.

Jordan Justice hit a triple for the losing team in the Wesco 3A North game.

Friday, Stanwood beat Marysville Getchell 7-2.
