Five of the six Marysville golfers competing in the 3A District 1 championships at Battle Creek Golf Course qualified for a second round of play today.

Par is 73, but the cut for the second day was a 93 for the 18 holes.

Marysville Pilchuck had all four of its golfers who qualified for the tourney within two shots of each other: Jeff Reynolds 86, Matt Allen 87, Conner Peterson 87 and Justin Trueax 88.

Meanwhile, for Marysville Getchell, Bernanrd Duplessis shot an 89. Justin Good did not advance after shooting a 97.

Three Marysville-area softball teams also are involved in district tournaments.

M-P plays Meadowdale and MG plays Snohomish, both at 3 p.m. today at Phil Johnson Fields in Everett.

Winners play right after that at 5 p.m. in the semifinals, with the winner advancing to state.

In the other part of the bracket, if Arlington beats Edmonds-Woodway it would play at 5 p.m.

Lakewood’s softball will compete in the first round of the District 1 2A tourney Wednesday at Janicki Fields in Sedro-Woolley. It plays Lynden at 4 p.m.
