Blitz provides Seahawks power at M’ville school assembly

MARYSVILLE – The Marysville School District has a huge emphasis at all of its schools this year to improve attendance and behavior.

To keep the effort positive, each school has its own way of honoring those who excel at each.

But Liberty Elementary School took it to the next level March 10.

It had a very popular special guest at its awards ceremopny – Seattle Seahawks football mascot Blitz.

Blitz taught the students an important message – To be a good sport. He did that by inviting a student with a Denver Bronco jersey on up front for a hug.

Russell Wilson also appeared, in the form of a puppet, encouraging the students to help out and support each other like teammates do.
