MARYSVILLE – Cameron Smith pitched a no-hitter over five innings and struck out 11 while walking just one as Arlington blanked Marysville-Pilchuck Tuesday 11-0.

He only allowed one walk.

At the plate, he hit a double and knocked in two runs.

Camdon Anderson went 2-for-2 with a double and 2 RBI. He also scored twice. And Owen Bishop also hit a double and had 3 RBI in going 2-4.

The Eagles also played some outstanding defense. Shortstop Paul Chung saved a run in the third with a runner on second base, tracking a ball down deep to his right and throwing out the batter at first base for the third out. Second baseman Cole also made a tough play the next inning, running out to short rightfield to make a catch.

Arlington led 5-0 after three inning, but put the game out of reach with a six-run fifth inning. Jack Sheward started it off with a line-drive shot up the middle. He scored on a bloop single, then, after another single, Smith smacked a bases loaded double to left-center and the rout was on.

In another game at M-P, Everett got all it could handle before beating Marysville Getchell 9-7.

The Seagulls took a 4-0 lead in the first inning, but MG came back to cut the margin to 8-7 after five. But that’s as close as the home team could come.

Kody Galde led the Chargers at the plate hitting a triple, getting an RBI and scoring a run.

In soccer, M-P blanked Oak Harbor 3-0 and Snohomish edged MG 4-3.
