Arlington, MG girls win; M-P falls; M-P, MG, Lakewood all lose in baseball (slide show)

ARLINGTON

Softball

Three freshmen stood out for Arlington in its 11-3 win over Shorewood Tuesday.

Lexi Eck went 4-5 with 2 RBI, Kailyn Thai was 3-3 and scored 2 runs and Liz Durfee was the winning pitcher.

Juniors Brooklyn Lamie and Taylor Zodrow both went 2-4 and sophomore Megan Lawrence went 1-2 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.

MARYSVILLE 

Softball

Marysville Getchell scored 10 runs in the first inning and coasted to an 18-3 win over Edmonds-Woodway Tuesday.

Hannah Kranz had a monster game at the plate going 3-3 with a home run and 5 RBI. Faith Lampinen contributed a double.

MG had just eight hits but took advantage of four E-W errors.

Brionna Palm and Erica Martin combined for a three-hitter on the mound.

M-P, on the other hand, only managed a double by Sydney Zachry in losing to Meadowdale 11-0. The winners pounded out 15 hits and were led by pitcher Kate Houghton, who struck out 13 in five innings.

Baseball

M-P lost a heart-breaker at Snohomish Tuesday 4-3, committing five errors in the process.

The Panthers scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth after the game had been tied at 3-3 since the second inning.

Despite the loss, pitcher Paolo Cappello stood out for the Tommies, giving up just one earned run in 4.2 innings. Chase Brammer, who ended up being the losing pitcher, led M-P at the plate going 2-3.

In another Wesco 3A game Tuesday, Stanwood beat MG 8-4.

LAKEWOOD 

Baseball

In a Northwest 2A game Tuesday, it was Sedro-Woolley 8, Lakewood 1.
