Arlington beats MG in track (slide show)

MARYSVILLE – Kristain Fairbanks of Arlington has quickly gone from dominating on the wrestling mat to dominating in track and field.

Fairbanks led the Eagles to a 129-16 win over Marysville Getchell Thursday, winning four events.

The Arlington girls also won 98-51.

Fairbanks won the javelin with a throw of 156 feet, 7 inches, and took the 100-meter dash in 11.62 seconds. Teammate Daylin Pierce was right behind him with a time of 11.67 seconds. Fairbanks also was on both winning relay teams, along with teammate junior Cade Younger. In the 4 by 100, they teamed with Pierce and Chase Petersen to win in 44.6 seconds. They teamed with Aiden Emerson and Nathaniel Alexander to take the 4 by 400 in 3:38.6.

Along with the relays, Younger took the 400 in 53.72 seconds.

Three other Eagles won two events each.

Sophomore Jaden Roskelley won with a 5-10 mark in the high jump and took the 110 hurdles in 17.41 seconds.

Joshua Gutierrez took both the long jump at 20 feet 4 inches and the triple jump at 39-10. He also hit 5-10 in the high jump.

Isaac Donnelson won two field events, the discus with a toss of 144 feet 10 inches and shot put at 42 feet .5 inches. Teammate Ayodele Aribibola was right behind at 41 feet, 9.5 inches.

Five other Eagles won one event each.

Freshman Parker Duskin won the 300 hurdles in 44.32 with teammate Taz Voight a close second.

In the 1600, sophomore Vincent Loftis won in 4:45.82.

Junior Chance Pearston took the 3200 in 10:04.48.

Pierce did take the 200 in 23.41.

And Blake Landry won the 800 in 2:03.49, with Thomas McCormick of MG a close second.

For MG, Josh Baker won the pole vault at 11 feet, 6 inches.

In the girls competition, there were also multiple winners.

Sophomore Jersey Heiss won the 100 in 13.4 seconds, the javelin in 101-6 and the long jump in 14-11. She was also second in the 200 in 27.91.

Junior Julia Parra won the triple jump at 31-7, the shot in 39-5 and the discus at 122-1.

Freshman Keira Marsh also won three events – the high jump with a 4-10 and as part of the two longer relay teams.

Joining her in the 4 by 100 were Sarah French, Reagan Beaton and Kelsey Mutton; their winning time was 1:50.35.

Marsh, Mutton, freshman Audrey Jay and Paige Nelson ran the 4 by 400 in 4:23.75.

Mutton also picked up her third win, taking the 400 in 1:01.61.

Jay was a double victor, also winning the 300 hurdles in 52.29.

Sophomore Breanna Gonzales won the pole vault at 7-6 and junior Maggie Delaney took the 1600 in 5:37.06. For MG, Kierra Green took the 200 in 27.47. She also was on the winning 4 by 100 relay team with Beni Luboya, Jayden Pittman and Madeline Granbois in 53.12.

Sophomore Jasmine Nguyen won the 3200 in 11:55.23.

Junior Julia Rea won the 800 in 2:34.73.

Junior Sophie Alt took the 100 hurdles in 18.2 seconds. She was also second in the 300 hurdles in 52.96.

Boys golf

At Harbour Pointe Golf Course, Arlington was second at 226 behind Kamiak’s 193 and ahead of Cascade at 284.

Eagles scores were Riley Morris with a 43, Alex Coghill 44, Caden Smith 45, Nate Metcalf 47 and Trent Nobach 47.

Boys soccer

Marysville-Pilchuck got by Archbishop Murphy 3-2.

Scoring goals for the Tomahawks were Luis Galvan, Randy Galvan and Kyle Matson, who booted in the clincher. Ashton Wolff added an assist.

Boys baseball

M-P beat ABM 6-1.

In Northwest 2A action, Bellingham beat Lakewood 6-1.

Girls softball

In Northwest 2A action, Lakewood shut out Meridian 12-0.
