Cascade Conference announces spring’s best

Lakewood coach Larry Delaney was recognized for the work he did with the Cougars on the diamond, as he was voted 2010 Cascade Conference’s baseball coach of the year by his peers.
The Cougars also had a number of players honored by the conference, starting with baseball. Senior catcher Michael Leach was named to the first team, while teammates Freddy Perez (OF) and Lucas Harkins (IF) were named to the second team.
The Barrio sisters were recognized for their achievements in softball with both Kahlee (senior, 3B) and Arianna (sophomore, SS) receiving first team considerations. Their teammate, sophomore Cheyenne Wilson, was named to the second team.
Lakewood soccer also had a trio honored, starting with junior midfielder Brandon Ochoa at first team. Seniors Joseph Hawkins at forward and Jeremy Rose at defender were named to the second team.
Awards were chosen by the coaches during their respective district tournaments.
