The Marysville School District is, once again, offering its comprehensive sports physical.

The physical, which is offered Aug. 18 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, is provided to youth entering grades 7-12, touring athletes through stations that measure their vascular fitness and lung capacity. Doctors present also check students for orthopedic health and possible chemical discrepancies.

The Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association requires athletes in the state of Washington to have a physical every two years. Players whose physicals expire in the middle of a season will not be eligible to play that season or any after until a new physical is filed with the student's school athletic office.

The district is charging $35 per student this year, down from $40 last year. The cost of the physical goes into a scholarship fund for the Marysville-Pilchuck Male and Female Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Appointments can be made starting Aug. 3 at 360-653-7058.
