Win over Wildcats closes Tomahawk tennis season

Tomahawk tennis swept the doubles competition on their way to a 5-2 win over Oak Harbor to close the season.
No. 1 doubles team April Bobadilla and Jodie Anderson defeated Wildcats Kelly Stephenson and Aimee Flores 6-3, 6-4 in the May 4 match. No. 2 team Lindsey Schuetze and Taylor Olsen had a wider margin of victory over Myra Veltkamp and Janelle Byers, 6-2, 6-1.
Sophomores Kaitlyn Engberg and Amy Famelos took down Oak Harbor duo Erin Neilson and Olivia Anderson 6-2, 6-4.
Junior singles player Kelsey Brubaker and senior singles player Allison Pascoe each won their matches in two sets. Brubaker defeated Alyssa Merriman 6-4, 6-4.
Oak Harbor freshman singles player Laurin Rico put up a good fight in the first set against Pascoe, sending it into a tiebreaker, but the senior still won in two sets, 7-6, (7-2), 6-2.
Junior singles players Ashley Bartlett and Lianne Falenski were the only Tomahawks to lose their matches, and the like the wins, the losses also came in two sets.
Bartlett fell to Christine Connelly 4-6, 2-6. Falenski was defeated by Jennifer Jansen, 1-6, 1-6.
