Lady Tomahawks remain undefeated in league play

The Lady Tomahawks volleyball team remained undefeated in Wesco North league action with their first two wins in October.
M-P defeated 3A Everett 3-1 at home Tuesday, Oct. 3, and went on the road to defeat the Stanwood Spartans 3-2 Thursday, Oct. 5.
M-P improved to 3-0 in league play and 5-3 overall.
The game scores against the host Lady Spartans were 21-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-16 and 17-15. Senior outside hitter Nancy Couls recorded 15 kills and 16 digs, senior middle blocker Laura Degerness had 14 kills, three aces and 20 digs.
Junior middle blocker Kristeen Juarez had 18 digs and 12 kills.
Stanwood fell to 1-2, 5-3 on the season.
The Lady Tomahawks began their week by defeating the Lady Seagulls of Everett 3-1 Tuesday, Oct. 3, in the Jim Linden Field house.
Game scores were 18-25, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-15.
Couls had 11 kills and 14 digs and Degerness contributed nine kills.
Everett dropped to 0-2, 2-5 on the 2006 campaign.
