Lakewood splits two games

The lady Cougars fastpitch team beat up on Coupeville May 7, winning 10-3.
Becca Bean had another strong game for the homeside, finishing 1-2 with two walks and two runs. Brienne Stewart also scored twice and Kally Behen finished 1-2 with a double and a run. Behen pitched for Lakewood, zipping through all seven innings and conceding only four hits. She struck out 10 Coupeville batters along the way.
The team then lost to Burlington-Edison May 11 by a score of 15-1. Burlington got on the board early, scoring three runs in the top half of the first inning and never looked back. For Lakewood, Amanda Nunley went 1-3 with a home run to provide the Cougars only offense.
