Mighty Marlins triumph in triathlon

Two Mighty Marlin swim team members took top honors in their age group when they competed in the Clear Lake Triathlon July 14.
The triathlon, which took place in Clear Lake, Wash., just south of Sedro-Woolley, consisted of a 100-yard swim, a two-mile bike ride and -mile run.
Amanda Collins and Jewell LeValley took the first two places in the girls youth division, finishing in 13:36 and 14:01 respectively.
The race was more grueling in the adult competition after a 1/3-mile swim and 14.8-mile bike ride, the triathlon finished with a four-mile run.
Trevor LeValley finished second in the boys 15- to 19-year-old category with a time of 1:27:03 and Kara Koetje took first in the girls 15- to 19-year-old group with a 1:32:26 finish.
