The Lady Tomahawks soccer team may not have had a successful season as whole, but four players were bestowed with Wesco North all-league honors.
The good news for the M-P soccer stars is that they are all juniors and coach Geoff Kittle said it is great that they will all return next season.
Midfielder Kassandra Riozzi received first-team honors and her coach said she puts in the time needed in order to play at a high level.
Kassandra is perhaps the best midfielder in the league, Kittle said. Her play directly led to over half of our goals this season. She had seven assists and two goals. A lot of the girls in the program look up to her because of her outstanding character.
Forward Hannah Wood was selected to the second-team and was the leading scorer on the team with seven goals.
Coach Kittle said she plays with a lot of heart and passion and stepped up her game this year.
Forward Melissa Lauer and goalkeeper Skyler Peterson were selected as honorable mentions.
Melissa has a lot of natural talent. She is one of the fastest players on the team and she has a great first touch.
Kittle said Peterson recorded four shutouts this year and is a great all-around athlete.
Wesco coaches selected all athletes.
