LACEY – Marysville-Pilchuck’s girls softball team was on a high after winning its first two games at the state tournament.

But after losing to Snohomish for the fourth time this season, this time 3-1, they ended the year on a low note, falling to Redmond 12-2. The Tomahawks ended the season 22-6.

M-P standout McKenzie Justice again stood out for the Tommies, scoring the only run with a solo homer in the second inning. She kept M-P close on the mound, pitching the complete came, striking out five.

M-P bounced Prairie 6-2 and Garfield 4-2 to reach the semifinal game Saturday morning. In their next game, the consolation semifinals, Redmond tallied seven runs in the first two innings to win going away in just five innings. Katie Barrett had two hits and drove in a run for the Tomahawks while Jacia Cook drove in a run and scored a run.
